THIS IS A PREVIEW ONLY.
Lab Biology A is a course that covers
introductory biology concepts for high school students. Students will be asked
to go over the fundamentals of lab safety so they can engage in inquiry
learning safely. A survey of the scientific method will allow students to
become comfortable creating their own investigations. Students will learn what
biology is and why it is important to study. The biological topics that will be
covered begin with the chemical basis of life before moving into cells and
their components. From there, the course transitions into how all cells make
and use energy and explores how interconnected these processes are with both
the living and nonliving parts of the environment. Finally, students will
explore cell division to discover how organisms grow and reproduce and how
multicellular life develops.
